I was invited to be the event photographer of Vancouver Asian Film Festival’s Mind Your Bid-ness Fundraising Event. I probably volunteer to photograph half a dozen or so non-profit/charity events annually. When you have abilities not everyone else does, it’s very wonderful to be able to share them to make the world a better place.

The event was PACKED and very very fun! I ran into people after people I know. It was difficult to do both socializing and photographing at the same time!

It was held at the Biltmore Cabaret, at Kingsway and 12th in Vancouver. Not only there was a popular silent auction, but there was also hours of entertaining live auctions! The items were all so yummy! There were local fashion items, original artworks, date nights, a photo shoot, a graphic makeover (that includes a website, business cards and event planning? Almost too good to be true!), foodie tours etc…

Of course my favourite moment as a photographer was when Daniel Chai and his partners showed us a taste of his Screaming Chicken’s Burlesque Variety Show. There were just too many hilarious moments–only two are shown here.

I left before the dancing began. Am sure that was a blast too!

Do check out the fabulous line-up’s of exciting Asian films. The festival dates are 4th-7th November, 2010. I am so sad that I will be in Japan and miss the festival…(Hm…maybe not THAT sad…)

Michelle Kuen Suet Fung 馮捲雪

Intricate, delicate and very cute drawings and paintings by Chinese Canadian artist Michelle Kuen Suet Fung.
