photography-about

How do you see yourself different from other photographers?

My photographic style is heavily influenced by my fine art background. I am as sensitive to the background as I am to the subject. In my portraits, my landscape background always gleams with luminous colours and my subjects always flow with emotions.

This year, I have also incorporated a line of portrait service that features my fine art images as well. Imagine having an unique portrait that is also a work of fine art!

How long have you been doing photography?

I have been photographing for 12 years. When I first started, I used to write down all the settings and filters I used for each shot to review afterwards. It’s so much easier to learn photography now!

What are some of the best decisions you have made in life?

-        Joining Toastmasters at 19.

-        Going to England at 20.photography-about2

-        Joining Professional Photographers Association of British Columbia in 2009.

-        Being happy everyday.

What do you do when you’re not doing your photography?

Of course drawing and painting. After that, I enjoy reading, skiing, travelling, yummy conversations and learning.

What are your favourite books?

Just to name a few…

“Drop Dead Cute” Ivan Vartanian

“Eat that Frog” Brian Tracy

“Tess of the d’Urbervilles” Thomas Hardy

“Taipei People” Pai Hsien-yung

“The Great Gatsby” F. Scott Fitzgerald

What your favourite food?

Really…everything, except strangely enough I will turn down a plate of dessert with no regret. Apparently everyone agrees that I have a hollow leg.

Who are your favourite clients?

Fun creative people!

Which is your favourite photo shoot?

My next one.

What’s your goal for 2010?

I would like to have my first destination wedding assignment this year. Are you getting married outside Vancouver?
